Mountain Province

During our mission we visited some of the tribes in the Mountain province travelling to :

• ISNEG
• IGORET
• ILLOCANO
• KALINGA
• GONZAGA
• CABUGAO
• CAGAYAN
• BONTOC
• CALAFUNG MAWIQUE

Funds are desperately needed for medicines; during our stay I witnessed a 13 year old girl dying of malaria ... there was no medicine and no transport to help her. Drugs to treat malaria are relatively inexpensive ... it is heartbreaking to see children dying of such diseases.

Funds are needed to help them provide buildings to establish feeding programes for the children and to help in providing buildings for the Lazarus children where they can live in and be supervised by the pastors.

Funds are needed to provide bore holes and water pumps to pump fresh, clean water ... this is a very serious problem in these Mountain Provinces. All their washing is done in the river.

Recent reports from Pastor Pacio tell us that they are in a 'state of calamity' with strong tornados destroying plantations and much needed crops. They have been told these typhoons will continue until December. In these situations medicine becomes a priority because of malaria, but they have no money to buy them ... and the children suffer.
